Kisner, Chairman Dr. Kisner is the current Chairman of the Board at Avera and Partner at Aberdare Ventures. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Caliper Technologies, Corp. (NASDAQ: CALP), a leader in microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology. He led the company from a technology-focused start up to a publicly traded, commercially oriented organization. Prior to Caliper, he was the President and COO of Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc, Division VP of Pharmaceutical Development for Abbott Laboratories and VP of Clinical Research and Development at SmithKline Beckman Pharmaceuticals. In addition, he held a tenured position in the Division of Oncology at the University of Texas, San Antonio School of Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. At Aberdare, Dr. Kisner has played a key role in new investment decisions with Idun, Avera Pharmaceuticals, Mpex Pharmaceuticals, Ruxton Pharmaceuticals, Salmedix, Sequoia, Kai Pharmaceuticals, and Bioverdant, Inc. In addition to his responsibilities at Aberdare, Dr. Kisner serves as Chairman of Caliper's Board and he is also on the boards of several private companies. He holds a BA from Rutgers University and an MD from Georgetown University. |

Elms Mr. Elms currently serves as a Managing Director for Aisling Capital. Previously, he was a Principal in the Life Sciences Investment Banking Group of H&Q. During his five years at Hambrecht & Quist, Mr. Elms was involved in over 60 financing and M&A transactions, helping clients raise in excess of $3.3 billion in capital. Prior to Hambrecht & Quist, Mr. Elms traded mortgage-backed securities at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette for two years. His previous healthcare sector experience includes over two years as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Marion Laboratories and two years as a consultant for The Wilkerson Group. Mr. Elms currently serves as a director of Adams Respiratory Therapeutics, Inc., Advion BioSciences, Inc., Ambit Biosciences Corporation, Avera Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Bioenvision, Inc., CeNeRx BioPharma, Inc. and MAP Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He was also a director of Novazyme Pharmaceuticals prior to its sale to Genzyme and the Chairman of the Board of Oculex Pharmaceuticals prior to its sale to Allergan, Inc. Mr. Elms received a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. |

Giebel Dr. Giebel has been a Venture Partner SV Lifescience since 2001. Prior to this he was a Managing Partner of Didyma, LLC, a biotechnology management consulting firm. Dr. Giebel was Founder, President and CEO of CyThera Inc., Founder and Chief Operating Officer of ExSAR and Founder and Vice President of Research of MetaXen, LLC, now part of Exelixis. He joined Arris Pharmaceutical, now part of Celera, as the first biologist and subsequently held various management positions, including Senior Director of Molecular Biology. He currently serves on the boards of Alba Therapeutics, Avera Pharmaceuticals, Sapphire Therapeutics and the University of Colorado Human Medical Genetics Program. Dr. Giebel received his PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Heidelberg, Germany and did his Post Doctoral studies in Human Genetics at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. |

| Ross Bersot, CFA Ross Bersot, CFA, is a Principal at Bay City Capital and has been with the firm since September 2002. Mr. Bersot focuses on evaluating investment opportunities for the firm. As part of the Pritzker Research Consortia Business Strategy Team, he works to commercialize IP derived from the academic groups' research in neuropsychiatric disorders and neurogenesis. Mr. Bersot was previously an analyst at Jackson Square Partners, L.P. where he evaluated investment opportunities within the healthcare and technology sectors for inclusion in the hedge fund's long/short portfolio of publicly traded stocks. Prior to that, he worked as both an equity and fixed-income analyst and trader at Payden & Rygel Investment Counsel in Los Angeles. In a period of three and a half years, various responsibilities included analysis of the healthcare and technology industries for the firm's small-cap equity portfolios, trading $1.5 billion equity and equity derivatives separate accounts, and working as a member of the team managing a $5 billion global fixed income portfolio. Mr. Bersot currently serves as a director on the board of Avera Pharmaceuticals. He received a BA in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. |

Heron Mr. Heron is a General Partner with Frazier Healthcare Ventures., with a focus on biotechnology and growth equity opportunities. Mr. Heron joined Frazier Healthcare in 1999 and founded QuatRx Pharmaceuticals, an in-licensor of early-stage clinical development compounds, with its core management team in late 2000. He also led the opening of Frazier Healthcare's Palo Alto office in the summer of 2003. Mr. Heron currently serves on the boards of Avera Pharmaceuticals, Cerexa, Chimerix, Genospectra, Informed Medical Communications, QuatRx Pharmaceuticals and Trubion Pharmaceuticals Prior to joining Frazier Healthcare, Mr. Heron helped develop McKinsey & Co.'s West Coast biotechnology consulting practice after starting his career working with large pharmaceutical clients on the East Coast. His projects included corporate strategy, M&A, product launch, sales force optimization, corporate partnering and research prioritization. Prior to joining McKinsey, Mr. Heron also worked with Massachusetts General Hospital in evaluating spin-off opportunities and with Cetus Corporation. He was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. |

F. McKelvy Dr. McKelvy served as the founding CEO and President of Avera from April 2002 until September 2006. Prior to joining the founding team of Avera, Dr. McKelvy was Vice President of Merck Research Laboratories and Site Head for the San Diego site in 1999. In that capacity, he oversaw the integration of SIBIA into Merck Research Laboratories. Dr. McKelvy had joined SIBIA Neurosciences, Inc., a publicly traded biotechnology company as Executive Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer and Director in 1998. Prior to SIBIA, Dr. McKelvy was founding CEO of Trophix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a private biotechnology company in 1997. Prior to Trophix, Dr. McKelvy served as Vice President of the Central Nervous System Strategic Business Unit for CIBA. In 1987, he left his position as Professor of Neurobiology, Molecular Biology and Psychiatry at SUNY Stony Brook and Chairman of the Neuroscience Research Review Committee of the National Institutes of Mental Health, to join Abbott Laboratories, first as Area Head for Neuroscience Drug Discovery and then as founding Venture Head for the Neuroscience Venture. While at Abbott, Dr. McKelvy established joint ventures with NOVO/NORDISK, resulting in the registration and marketing of the novel antiepileptic drug GABITRIL®, and with H. Lundbeck A.S., which resulted in the registration and marketing of SERLECT®, a novel antipsychotic drug. Dr. McKelvy received his medical and scientific training at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University. He is currently Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at University of California San Diego School of Medicine. |

Dinu Sen, Chief Executive Officer Prior to joining Avera, Mr. Sen was Chief Commercial Officer at Corus Pharma, Inc., where he held overall responsibility for sales, marketing, business development, manufacturing, QC, project management, information technology and inhalation technology. Prior to joining Corus Pharma, Mr. Sen was President and Chief Operating officer at Cubist Pharmaceuticals, where he held overall responsibility for the day to day operations of the company. In addition to his roles at Corus and Cubist, Mr. Sen has served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for PathoGenesis Corporation, and held several senior marketing roles at Schwarz Pharma, Amgen, Inc, and Abbott Laboratories. During his 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Sen has held key roles in the launch and marketing of several successful products, including Epogen®, Neupogen® and TOBI®. Furthermore, he has been instrumental in licensing products, raising capital from venture and corporate partners, and was a member of the executive teams that sold PathoGenesis to Chiron Corporation (now Novartis) and Corus Pharma to Gilead Sciences, Inc. Mr. Sen is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and holds a Masters in Management (MBA) from the J. L. Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. " |
